Wee Burn Country Club Wedding by the Sea, Darien, CT
Lizzie and Alastair are so lovely, it was such a pleasure spending their wedding day with them! He’s British and she’s from Connecticut. They met and fell in love while working in Singapore, can you believe that! So romantic. We met via Skype from Singapore and hit it off right away! I was thrilled to be working with them and with their extraordinary team of vendors at this Wee Burn Country Club Wedding by the Sea.
Though the rain threatened to dampened their spirits, it didn’t stop Lizzie, Alastair, their families and guests from having the time of their lives! The couple decided to get married in the bride’s hometown in Connecticut. The day held the charm and elegance of an English countryside, a definite nod to the groom’s heritage. The groomsmen looked absolutely dapper in formal tails with just a touch of plaid adding a Scottish tradition. The adorable flower girls and ring bearers made the group portrait session before the wedding especially sweet, although one of the little ring bearers was not too happy about it, (so cute). In my opinion, the more kids, the better! The wedding ceremony at St. Luke’s Parish was perfect. There’s something so magical about an elegant church.
Reception Details We Loved
The Wee Burn Country Club was the perfect backdrop for the elegant party that followed the ceremony at St. Luke’s. Most noteworthy, the dining room was decorated so beautifully, with the green glassware and ornate plates perfectly complimenting the lush greenery in the centerpieces. Similarly tasteful, above a checkerboard dance floor hung a canopy woven with vines, white flowers, and exposed cafe lights. The wedding cake from Sweet Lisa’s almost looked too good to eat! To avoid the threat of rain, we quickly made our way to the beach for portraits, which turned out dramatically gorgeous with a moody skies. Congratulations, Lizzie and Alastair, your wedding was amazing!

Elizabeth and Ted’s Seaside Belle Haven Club Wedding, Greenwich, CT
Elizabeth and Ted’s Seaside Belle Haven Club Wedding included the couple’s two sweet Dachshunds, Sammy and Mr. Handsome. These doggies really stole the show. It was fun to see how they were included for the whole wedding day, from getting ready in the morning to the Dachshund shaped cookies which guests took home as favors. I loved their Dachshund logo on their custom matchbooks, a perfect match! Because wedding days are days for the whole family, it’s so fun when the fur babies are included.
A Classic Summer Ceremony
First of all, we couldn’t have asked for a more gorgeous summer day. The details were classic and personal. Elizabeth’s sister, her matron of honor, is the fashion designer Mestiza. She designed the dress she wore and the bride’s rehearsal dinner dress. In addition, all the bridesmaids wore different dresses with slightly different lengths and tones. Everyone was stunning against the backdrop of the boats on the harbor at the Belle Haven Club. Most noteworthy, Carol Lake painted a painting to commemorate the occasion that Elizabeth and Ted will enjoy for years to come. When it was finally time to leave, I couldn’t help but snap one last photo of the full moon over the water.

A Magical, Golden Hour Lakeside Wedding
Nathalie and Hugo’s lakeside Jewish wedding ceremony at the Cedar Lakes Estate took place by a gorgeous, shimmering lake on a serene, natural camping preserve which by the late afternoon of each summer day, transforms itself into truly a magical place. Nestled about an hour and a half from Manhattan along the border of New York and New Jersey, Cedar Lakes Estate is the perfect venue if you want your wedding to include sweeping, mountaintop views. We certainly took advantage of the grounds for portraits of Nathalie and Hugo, and a found a perfectly picturesque location for the signing of the ketubah.
Details From A Fairy Tale
The details and decor at Nathalie and Hugo’s wedding, from flower crowns to oversized balloons to a flower and string light garden feeling at dinner lended an elegant, dreamy feel to the whole day. Their wedding portraits by the lake, and atop the mountain right as the light turned perfectly golden, have a timeless, editorial feel.
When Love Stops Time
Nathalie and Hugo’s traditional Jewish ceremony was held at the golden hour on a summer day. The beauty of the moment and the location transfixed their friends and family for a few moments, and the rest of the world crept silently away. Their chuppah: asymmetrical with pinks, whites, a wrap of tulle, and plenty of green, matched perfectly with the natural summer palette. It was pure magic when they said, “I will. I do. With all my love,” and then the party began. And what a party it was! In the end, it doesn’t matter where you’re going, it’s who you have beside you – isn’t it? So much joy at this wedding!

A Magical Seaside Montauk Wedding
Fortunately, I was available for a last minute booking this past September: Kate and Josh’s seaside Montauk wedding at the bride’s mom’s private home. Montauk is the end of Long Island’s south shore and is known endearingly by locals as “The End”. Kate’s mom’s newly built home was a true architectural beauty! The day of the ceremony, once I arrived, I could not stop taking pictures, because so many of the sweet, modern, minimal details were DIY or meaningfully provided by friends of the family or local vendors. It added a special touch to the day. Everything was light and bright, truly a photographers dream. Also, the minimal design of the home and decor added a fresh, elegant feel to the wedding, which was gorgeous against the palette of the seaside: pale blues, greens, white, yellow, and gold.
Keeping It Casual
Kate and Josh wanted their day to be relaxed and stress-free, so they asked me to please keep the photography casual. Basically, they didn’t want a lot a posed photos. Ok, I said, but we will need a few couple and family portraits, is that ok? They agreed, but to just a few. The trees, sky, and sea behind gorgeous, sun soaked ditch plains created a magical backdrop. We kept it casual and just continued shooting everything as the day went on, all the happiness, nerves and smiles, the shy dog, the gorgeous wedding party and the breath-taking surroundings, all day long, even as a little rain shower sprinkled down during dinner, which was held outside under the stars. Finally, after a long day of shooting, we headed home.
A Perfect Day By The Sea
I think in The End, (no pun intended), the photos are a perfect description of the day and the couples wishes. Kinda cool, don’t you think? I shot this wedding with a mix of vintage film and digital cameras. I personally love the Lihi Hod gown, it’s perfection on Kate. Please take a look and let me know what you think. I love how the photos turned out and hope you do as well. Let me know, leave a comment below.

An Art Deco Wedding at the Top Of the World
Jessie and Brendan’s Art Deco Rainbow Room wedding was epic. Not epic in the epic sense, as much as epic in the EPIC sense! The Rainbow Room is an epic venue and perfect for a jaw dropping first look against the breathtaking backdrop of the New York City skyline. Furthermore, everything about this couple’s special day shined with happiness, from the golden and white details, to the sparkle in their eyes as they giggled and smiled together through the night. Even their names glowed brightly thanks to the beautiful neon art created by Marcus Conrad Poston. The timeless luxury of the Rainbow Room along with the classic Art Deco styling made this truly an exquisite affair.
Good Job, Pierre!
In addition to the epic venue, Jessie and Brendan have an epically important guest. Probably the most important part of the story is Pierre. He’s an adorable French Bulldog who worked his magic and pulled his Cupid bow, striking at just the right moment to bring this sweet, happy couple together. It was only natural that Pierre took center stage at their incredible wedding on top of the world at the Rainbow Room at Rockefeller Center. He looked just as handsome as his parents as they posed for portraits at The Top Of The Rock. Good job, Pierre!
Golden, Lux Styling for the Elegant Rainbow Room
There’s very few things I love as much as the classics. If you can imagine a wedding day that’s glamorous, Jessie and Brendan’s choices from stationery to dress to decor to jewelry was tasteful and chosen to reflect the timeless, elegant quality of the Rockefeller Center in New York City. The photographs seem timeless due to a soft romance in the vintage design elements and details in white, gold, and black. Also, the crystal decor and unique architecture of the Rainbow Room lended an upscale feel. Finally, the sweet white chuppah was a perfect symbol for the day.
Because Jessie and Brendan set their date for spring, they also took advantage of the beautiful seasonal blooms and drenched the place in cherry blossoms. For so many of us, cherry blossoms symbolize the start of something new, something great, therefore it was another great example of ways that the details of this Art Deco wedding reflected Jessie and Brendan’s love. In conclusion, we wrapped up the night with an EPIC kiss under the iconic neon Rainbow Room sign on the busy street of New York City. Check out the photo and let me know what you think in the comments.

An Epic Love Story
Veronica and Cooper’s Glam NYC Wedding was one for the books. The beautiful bride wrote, “Cooper and I fell in love immediately. We got engaged within a year of meeting. Two months later, I went to the doctor for what we would later discover was Autoimmune Encephalitis. My immune system was attacking my brain, at first causing mood swings of anger and crying, and eventually causing loss of speech ability, loss of motor control, and seizures. Cooper defended me to doctors who thought I was being hysterical. He acted as my interpreter when I could no longer express myself.”
Right Place, Right Time
“Doctors didn’t know how to diagnose me and said they couldn’t help us. Cooper never lost faith in my getting better. He gave me the strength to go on when my brain was armed against me. Eventually, Cooper’s mom was reading a book, “Brain on Fire,” about a woman who went through the same thing. I landed in the hospital in front of the right doctors, the same doctors in the book. Finally, we started treatment. I was injected with other people’s immune systems, intravenous immunoglobulin. A science miracle worked and now, I’m 100% healthy. Cooper and I knew each other so much more deeply [after that] and could not wait to get married.”
A Loose, Organic, Joyful Vibe
“Due to our extraordinary story, we needed an extraordinary venue. Our wedding was held at 632 on Hudson. We wanted our wedding to be timeless, organic, playful in moments, and always full of love and joy. Therefore, following the ceremony was an extended cocktail hour. Rather than choosing colors randomly, our wedding colors were midnight blue and gold, inspired by a portrait on the atrium ceiling. My bridesmaids wore earthy metallics and blush. The bridal flowers were burgundy, red, blush, and green. Most noteworthy, we went for a loose prohibition era, Glam New York wedding vibe!”
